Qosim is a legal researcher, Nigerian Law School aspirant and technology enthusiast with a strong interest in litigation practice, alternative dispute resolution, corporate practice and compliance and Islamic finance. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in Common and Islamic Law from Bayero University Kano and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) and an Associate of Chartered Islamic Banking and Finance (ACIBF) issued by the International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIIBF). Through his academic training, he developed a solid foundation in several areas of Iaw, including corporate practice, tech law (data privacy and intellectual property), telecommunications law, legal and legislative drafting, Islamic finance, Islamic inheritance, and Waqf (Islamic endowment systems).
Qosim has gained practical exposure to legal practice through several internships with litigation-focused law firms and legal institutions across Nigeria. His experience includes legal research, case analysis, drafting of court processes, and participation in litigation-related tasks, and he has participated and provided support for teams representing his school in national and international competitions with astonishing success recorded. He has also received training in mediation, conciliation and other amicable dispute resolution mechanisms through programmes facilitated by the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators and other professional platforms.
Beyond legal practice, Qosim maintains a keen interest in legal scholarship and intellectual engagement. He has authored a number of legal articles (both published and yet to be published) on diverse areas of law and actively contributes to discussions on legal development, research, and professional growth among law students. His work often focuses on simplifying complex legal issues and making legal knowledge more accessible.
Duting his university days, Qosim has demonstrated notable leadership. He served as the Attorney-General (Head of Chambers) of Solace Chambers at Bayero University Kano, where he oversees the affairs of the Chambers and works towards strengthening its institutional structure to better prepare members (who are mainly aspiring lawyers) for contemporary legal practice. He also serves as Director of Pre-Trial at the Bayero University Kano Law Clinic, where he contributes to legal education initiatives and practical training for student clinicians. Earlier in his academic journey, he served as Director of Research for the National ADR Society, among others.
In addition to law, Qosim possesses a strong interest in technology and digital knowledge platforms. He has a solid training and expertise in web development and has built several responsive websites using modern web technologies. Through these skills, he seeks to support legal education and intellectual exchange by developing digital platforms that facilitate legal publications, mentorship, and collaborative learning. Driven by a commitment to excellence and continuous learning, Qosim aims to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the legal profession through research, mentorship, and innovative solutions that bridge law, technology, and knowledge development.
